MET

Popularly known as MET, muscle energy technique is a form of stretching. You will be positioned and asked to use about 20% of your strength to push in a particular direction for around 7 seconds. You will then be asked to relax and the target muscle will be stretched for around 30 seconds. The process will be repeated until no further change can be made to the tissues - usually around 3 times. The procedure should not hurt and is often chosen as it more comfortable than other techniques we could use.
